South University and the Status of the Healthcare Industry

The healthcare industry is experiencing rapid and sustained growth, driving strong demand across a diverse range of professions, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Programs such as Nursing (BSN, MSN, DNP), Pharmacy (PharmD), and Physician Assistant (MS) are expanding to meet the need for advanced clinical expertise. Public Health (BS, MPH) degrees are increasingly vital as healthcare systems emphasize prevention and population health.

Healthcare Management (BS) and Healthcare Administration (MBA, MHA) programs are preparing professionals to lead in an evolving and complex industry, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Equally important are roles within Allied Health Sciences (AS) and Health Sciences (BS), which support diagnostic, therapeutic, and administrative functions vital to patient care. Fields such as Medical Assisting (AS), Physical Therapist Assistant (AS or AAS), Occupational Therapy Assistant (AS or AAS), and Anesthesia Science (MMSc) are also essential in delivering effective, team-based healthcare. This broad growth highlights the industry’s need for skilled professionals at all levels, from associate degrees to doctorates.

Not all programs are offered at all campuses. Be sure to check with your campus first.
