South University and the Status of the Public Service Industry

The fields of criminal justice, legal studies, and public administration are continually adapting to address the evolving needs of society, public policy, and the justice system, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics*. Today’s challenges—ranging from community safety to legal reform and efficient public service delivery—are driving increased demand for skilled professionals who can lead with integrity and expertise.

Programs such as Criminal Justice (BS, MS), Legal Studies (BS), and Paralegal Studies (AS) prepare graduates for careers in law enforcement, corrections, legal research, and court systems, providing the foundation needed to navigate complex regulations and uphold the rule of law. Meanwhile, the Public Administration (MPA) program equips students to manage public resources, design effective policies, and strengthen community partnerships in both government and nonprofit sectors. With growing emphasis on justice, accountability, and ethical leadership, these programs empower graduates to make a meaningful impact in their communities and to address critical issues at local, state, and federal levels.

Not all programs are offered at all campuses. Be sure to check with your campus first.
