The National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA) is an independent, not‑for‑profit organization established in 1989, dedicated to maintaining public safety and professional excellence among Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants (CAAs). It administers the initial Certifying Examination (Cert) and oversees the Continued Demonstration of Qualifications (CDQ) recertification process to ensure ongoing clinical competence. The NCCAA also tracks continuing medical education (CME) compliance and maintains a certification verification registry for employers and state boards.
