ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists the Physical Therapist in implementing treatment programs according to the plan of care;
2. Follows treatment plan designed by Physical Therapist;
3. Conducts treatments using special equipment and administers modalities and other treatment procedures;
4. Charts accurately and completely daily notes, progress notes and planned discharges in the EMR system;
5. Maintains a high standard of professional integrity and accountability;;
6. Ensures all progress notes, discharge summaries and status reports are co-signed by the supervising Physical Therapist;
7. Communicates with insurance case managers, adjusters and customer service representatives as appropriate;
8. Supervises affiliating Physical Therapy Assistant students, Licensed Athletic Trainers and Aides;
9. Performs other duties as assigned;
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Completion of APTA accredited 2 year Physical Therapy Assistant Program;
- NC State License – PTA;
- CPR for healthcare provided by the American Heart Association;
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time;
- Some lifting and moving of patient’s;
- Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, twist, reach, push and pull;
- Lift, carry up to 50 pounds;’
