Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Schertz / Northeast San Antonio
$5,000 Sign-On Bonus | $30–$35/hr

We’re seeking a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our Schertz/Northeast San Antonio clinic team, in a serene, state-of-the-art wellness center designed with both patient and provider well-being in mind.

This unique role is part of a Value-Based Care model that prioritizes quality over quantity, giving you the time and space to make a real difference. With low patient volume—each visit scheduled one-on-one every 45 minutes—you’ll have the opportunity to build genuine relationships and deliver personalized, impactful care.

You’ll work alongside our full-time Physical Therapist, supporting retired First Responders and their families through rehabilitation and wellness in a calm, respectful setting.

 What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver hands-on, one-on-one care to referred patients
  • Carry out therapeutic interventions in line with the PT’s plan of care
  • Support patients with exercises, mobility devices, and functional activities
  • Educate patients on wellness, rehabilitation goals, and self-care strategies
  • Document treatments and patient progress in our electronic health record
  • Maintain safety, cleanliness, and adherence to infection control standards
  • Assist with scheduling and coordination of patient care as needed

 Requirements:

  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree for Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited school.
  • Pass the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy
  • Current license issued by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners (TBPTE)
  • BLS
  • A strong sense of empathy and compassionate outlook on physical therapy and the ability to motivate patients to complete their exercises
  • Detail Oriented; pays close attention to detail to assess each patient’s needs and progression, and to document treatment sessions
  • Physical stamina; physically strong and have the stamina to lift patients and help them move. Able to spend most of their day on their feet.
  • Effective communication skills; able to listen carefully to physical therapist’s instructions and relay them to patients. Able to effectively explain treatment plans to patients.
  • Able to build rapport with patients, and/or families
  • Patience and a positive attitude; able to be patient as each patient has different strength levels and may have to overcome mental barriers. A positive attitude can help patients work harder and believe they can get better.
