South University and the Status of the Human Services Industry
The human services and faith-based leadership fields are experiencing significant growth as communities place greater emphasis on mental health, emotional well-being, and ethical guidance, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Programs like Clinical Mental Health Counseling (MA)* and Psychology (BA) are in high demand as more professionals are needed to address mental health challenges across schools, healthcare settings, and social service agencies. These roles are essential for promoting wellness, supporting crisis response, and advancing behavioral health initiatives.
At the same time, the Doctor of Ministry (DMin) prepares faith-based leaders to engage with diverse communities, provide spiritual care, and offer ethical leadership in both religious and public service contexts. As societal needs become more complex, these programs equip graduates to make a meaningful impact through counseling, advocacy, and values-based leadership.
